Great restaurant! Inside very stylish, outside great Terrasse with nice open view. Very friendly staff, very good food. The owner, Uli is everyday there and keeps the good and service oriented spirit of the restaurant alive. We organized also a few times bigger group dinners..everything worked out well! Definitely one of the best restaurants in cologne!
Don’t be surprised by the price of some food. The quality of the food will answer that. The service was kind and nice. I liked architecture, atmosphere and interiors with sunny day. And the restaurant is well kept with the Corona regulation. I saw a lot of different types of cakes, someday I want to try them.
Visitors to the Ludwig Museum, try here.
We chose this place based on their website, which made it look like a fine dining establishment with white tablecloths and views of the river, the bridge and the trains. It seemed like it would be a romantic place for dinner, and we looked forward to leaving with a box of their homemade truffles.
The reality of the place is so different that at first I thought we were in the wrong place. It is very casual (no tablecloths) with no decor to speak of. The very top of the bridge and a tiny segment of the trains are visible, and the river is not visible from there. In short, there is really nothing to look at inside or out, and the service is so slow that you will wish for something to look at. We had only an entree and beverage each, and were there for over two hours. We were tempted by the pastry case, but feared we would be there until closing time (the truffles don't exist).
The food was tasty, and if you went there with no expectations and plenty of time you might enjoy it. But beware of using their website to help you make your dining decision.
We stayed outside because it was a nice weather. Staff was nice and the drink service was fast
We had a lemonade and a beer
Definitely one of the best museums I have ever visited!
