Very friendly and helpful staff at the counter. The whole process of getting and returning the rental car was very smooth. Make sure you mark the parking lot on your google map. The address on paper which was handed to me was not quite accurate. Other than that, everything is clearly instructed and just follow the rule. Enjoy the ride!

Today Linda gave me the best customer experience ever (!) while being loyal customer for about two years now. Very friendly, open minded and customer-centric. She adapted the choice of car well to my needs in short term and obviously did go an extra mile. Tremendous! All Avis service desk personnel should be like her :)

Had some problem returning the car as the parking instructions are not clear, One need to park the car at "DB BahnPark Parkplatz Am Alten Ufer P6, Am Alten Ufer, Cologne, Germany" and take the keys to the avis counter. If you come from east on trankgasse turn right to the parking just before the overhead rail bridges.

The pickup/return location is extremely difficult to find and Avis does not provide any helpful guidance on the return process, so here it goes instead: 1. Return the car to the parking lot at the Kostgasse. You have to approach it from the East or you will not be able to reach the parking spaces marked Avis/Budget. 2. Take all the rental docs into the train station and they'll process your return. You don't need to talk to them prior to dropping off the car. Best of luck. Note that when I was there, they were quite understaffed and someone in front of us had been waiting an hour to pick up a car.

I was there 3 weeks go. I picked up the car in Munich and dropped off in Cologne. I read that it was a bit hard to find . The address given was Kostgasse 2. The GPS takes you to an upper lot by the music Center next to the Hauptbahnhof where the taxis and buses go. Just past that lot are Avis signs directing you left to a lower lot, but this road was clogged with parked vehicles. My son went to the office which is on the other side of the station, but had very little wait to find out that we were to park the car in the lower lot by going around the block, and at that point returned the car with little wait or hassle. We bought the super damage waiver so had no issues with the return although they overcharged me $8 which was refunded promptly via the booking agent Autoeurope. The staff was friendly and helpful.
