Edmund-Erlemann-Platz

On 24.09.2016, the square between the City Church and the Old Market got its new name: Edmund-Erlemann-Platz. Edmund "Eddi" Erlemann (born January 31, 1935 in Krefeld, † November 4, 2015 in Mönchengladbach) was a very socially engaged Roman Catholic priest, provost of the Monchengladbach Minster St. Vitus and founder of the Foundation Volksverein. The remodeling place between was carried out in the spring of 2019. The place got a new surface, in the direction of Alter Markt there are new seating levels. The small Vitus monument, which used to stand on a well, is now standing on a pedestal in the square.
