The Nicolaustafel of Conrad von Soest brought us here. It is housed in a beautiful chapel of green soester sandstone, the interior walls are bright, were formerly painted with Romanesque frescoes that are faded, but still divinely. The altar, with its bold colors and gold, looks like a well-presented piece of jewelery in a jewelery shop or like a crown in a treasury. Nothing around distracts, only the architecture forms a worthy frame. We were there when it started to dawn and the lights were on, which made the interior shine. Unfortunately, the colors on the photo shown here are not very good - in reality the blue and the golden background are particularly impressive. Many thanks to the friendly sexton and the friendly lady in the parish office, who opened the chapel to us, although it is closed throughout the winter.
