The community study centre in Starnberg. This institute offers many courses for all age groups...varying from languages, fitness, computer skills, literature, art, dance etc. It is known to be one of the most reasonably priced places to learn new stuff. The lady at the counter was very friendly to us and helped us a lot in understanding the procedures involved in our intended program. Would really recommend it to everyone looking for vocational study courses.
Beautiful old villa open to the public.
The course booking itself is relatively simple, but for the payment, a SEPA form must first be downloaded and filled in, which then has to be sent by post to the VHS. Payment in advance is not possible.
However, looking after course changes is anything but exemplary:
Our course was designed for 6 people and cost 84 euros p.P.
After 2 people had canceled, the course should suddenly, 1 day before the third appointment, 167 euros p.P. costs! Which in sum is much more, almost fraudulent features. On inquiry it was said, it is based on the normal course price for 4 people. Furthermore, it was said: Either you agree immediately, or, if only one person does not, the course will be canceled.
Lt. Terms, which are really very customer-unfriendly, you get back only a part of the fees, even if you have to book the next course so full! And of course you will also stay seated on the materials and documents specially purchased for this course. So you are literally forced to book a course for double the price!
Of course, according to the terms and conditions, the participants naturally do not have the right to leave the course at any time - because then you pay the complete (!) Course fee.
The information about where the course takes place is also rather poor, in our case a room within the school. You only get the room number, but no further information.
