Just once I want to go to a Mexican restaurant in Germany that actually serves Mexican food, but like all the others I’ve tried in this country, this restaurant also falls very short of serving food that tastes even remotely authentic.
I’m from the U.S., but I’ve been to Mexico several times and always sought out authentic restaurants in the States. I cannot fathom why Germans who have likely never been to Mexico think they know the food well enough to open a restaurant.
This one falls short in so many ways. They cut many corners. For approximately 1 heaping tablespoon of cold cheese sauce, you pay 1€, and it’s a yellow cheese (rather than the standard white Mexican cheese) and appears to have come from a squirt bottle rather than being warm and homemade.
In the U.S. and in Mexico, you’d pay roughly $3-$5 for a bowl of guacamole, but it would be a minimum of one full avocado (normally 2), and therefore enough for a table of 4 to enjoy it as an appetizer. Here, you pay 2€ for a heaping tablespoon, and it also appears to come from a package rather than being homemade.
I only ordered the nachos because I was afraid I’d be disappointed by the more expensive quesadillas, tacos, enchiladas, and burritos, and I’m glad that’s all I ordered.
I have no idea why Germans think Americans and Mexicans cover all their food in corn (we don’t. They don’t. It’s gross. Stop it please.)
I would love to invite all the cooks from this restaurant to my house for a night of homemade Mexican food with only homemade ingredients the way they’re meant to be served.
Every time I serve proper Mexican food to a German, they drool over it and ask for it again and again. Unfortunately, I will not be asking to come back to this place anytime soon.

The lunch offer for 7.90€ is just great. Good quality 👌
