Super friendly host, delicious home made food and very cheap wine tasting. Very close to Trier but still a quite Village. Nice spot by the river.

The food was all expired, i was sick for a week, poor service, very bad hotel😞

Basic, no frills. The room was clean but the property and the surroundings could do with a bit of attention. The garden is not very nice to sit in, and the bar/restaurant is a bit worn. An ok value for money for a 1-night stay. The service was friendly enough.

Not so long ago my wife had a week off. We decided to go to this Hotel for a long weekend. I have been so stupid not to read the previous comments. We were warmly welcomed by this lady. My wife told her that she teaches English. She complained that her mother didn't gave her the opportunity to become a teacher herself and by the way: everyone in the Netherlands are really incompetent. We are unable to speak in English and the German are so much better. This is the most weird almost surrealistic reception we had ... ever. What's wrong with this lady? We have always spoken in German and then she is making this weird remark. The funny thing is, she doesn't understand the most simple English sentence (just testing ;-). She most likely is very frustrated. When we went, it was rather cold, namely below zero degrees Celsius. Our landlady was so kind not to heat our room. After a few days we were really fed up and decided to leave. She told us if we were crazy. What do you expect if you go on a holiday in the winter, she replied. It's cold. Yes we know, but it does not have to be freezing cold in the Hotel (around 7 to 8 degrees Celsius). After this incident, she started to complain about the costs. Ok, I can imagine that it is costly to accept guests (we were the only one), so simply don't accept guests. It's not that hard. That's not all ............. We had booked something romantic, a romantic dinner to start with.. We have never, ever eaten something terrible as this. I'm pretty sure that she bought everything at Lidl and she made sure it could be directly served. Fast food chains can learn something from this expert. It was as if we were haunted away. One more thing. She advertises that a WIFI is available at no cost. Yes, she is right and you can even connect to it, but there it ends. There is no internet connection. If we can give you some good and valuable advice: DON'T EVER GO HERE! Trier is really a lovely place to go and in the end we enjoyed it a lot, but no thanks to this our terrible hostess. The last night we have eaten at Hotel Karlsmühle, not so far from this Hotel The diner was really great. When we get back then we are seriously thinking visiting this Hotel.
