The best rump steak in the area is served here. My recommendation is the rump steak with onions, fried in English (you just tell the boss "fried like Günther" and you get fried very well). In winter the landlady makes the political stew Bigos, which is really excellent and is prepared with a lot of love and effort. She always has the Polish vodka Żubrówka for degestif in stock.

Here in the Stadtschänke you can stop off comfortably. The landlady is always up for a joke, and especially her husband. If I'm hungry, I can choose between a delicious salad, good sandwiches or one of the best rump steaks in Freinsheim and the surrounding area. Kamilla, the boss in the kitchen and at the bar, has a knack for good, hearty home-style cooking. If my fingers itch, I can play darts, billiards or the machine. And the evening can sometimes be a little longer than planned, as you usually meet funny and nice people of all ages here. I like to stop by here for a well-chilled Schiele. See you ;-)

Just been there with 10 people. One of them did not want to drink anything. Wirt threatened to throw us out of the pub if the 10th man did not order anything. The 10th man was just not thirsty. Instead of looking forward to more than 9 paying guests, the landlord cursed the clientele of the "Culinary Wine Walk". These people would "besiege" his shop. We drank and left. We have never experienced such a hostile host.
