Now it's heard from all sides - the US, the trade wars, the way out of the DRMS, Trump. I was wondering, so who is Donald Trump? Therefore, I decided to visit Kalstadt, a small town in Rhineland-Palatinate, where the family of the President of the United States, and the Heinz family, come from. Yes, yes, that same Heinz, the world famous producer of ketchup. By the way, the families of Trump and Heinz are relatives. The grandfather of the current president of the United States, Frederick Trump (born Friedrich Trump), was born on March 14, 1869 in Kalstadt, immigrated to the United States in 1885, obtained citizenship in 1892. Frederick Trump married Elizabeth Christ also in Kalstadt in 1902. And the father of the American food industrialist Henry Heinz (1844-1919) was the second cousin of Frederick Trump. He, too, was born in Kalstadt and emigrated from Germany around the same time as the grandfather of the future US president. In general, for a long time I wanted to find out where it all began. And here I am in Kalstadt. This small provincial town (1206 inhabitants) is located in the west of Rhineland-Palatinate, the main wine region of Germany. Therefore, the road to the city lies among beautiful hills with a lot of vineyards. The view of the surrounding landscapes is simply mesmerizing. Especially in the fall. I have never seen such bright colors! Everything in Kalstadt is connected with wine and winemaking. Probably, in no other city there are so many wineries, restaurants and hotels in relation to the number of inhabitants: every first house is a hotel, every second is a restaurant, and the third is a wine cellar where you can buy wine both in bottles and on the flood. By the way, for the first time here I tried the still immature wine of a new crop. This, in fact, is not even wine, but unfiltered sweet grape juice with a sufficiently sharp wine-like odor and very low alcohol content. And white wine is much sweeter than red wine. In general, I really liked the city - quiet, cozy, beautiful. A real German idyll. I think, but do not rest here for several days in winter on New Year's Eve or Christmas?
