Kuhlenwall

Near this parking lot is a park and a part of the old city wall of Duisburg. This stretch of wall from the late Middle Ages did not suffer any damage during the Second World War. On an old map drawn by Johannes Corputius from 1566 the city walls are already indicated as a defense (see photo of information board). This remaining part of the city wall has a semicircular defense tower, built with volcanic rock that originates from the Eifel.
