Neue Färberei

I was there last week and very satisfied. The staff are very friendly and you are well served. The food is very fresh and delicious! The hygiene measures are very high and reasonable attention is paid to all requirements.

After Firebird 2.0 a nice new and very cozy ambience in the "new dye works". The staff is very friendly and comes to the table regularly. The menu has a good selection and the portions make you feel full .. starters, desserts, .. the schnitzels are awesome .. with the burger I personally would like one with poultry. The dye works is definitely worth a visit .. also several 😊 ... and questions about hygiene are answered in detail - many thanks to the boss! Definitely a recommendation!

I didn't choose the restaurant myself, I was invited. There is not enough choice of starters for my taste. Almost every starter has either Mettwurst or Black pudding, and if you don't like either, there's not much left, except maybe a salad. I finally decided on the Nünrberger sausages with sauerkraut as a "starter", which were also really tasty, although they were actually listed under the main courses (that's why I shared them with my wife because otherwise it would have been too much) . For my main course I ordered the schnitzel with cheese, holandaise and jalapenos and fried potatoes. All in all, the schnitzel was delicious, charging 16-17 euros for a schnitzel, but I think it's a bit too expensive. I would have liked more choice for the main courses too. It is clear to me that the focus of the restaurant is on Ruhr area cuisine, but I would have liked more typical German dishes (e.g. pork knuckle, braised beef, cheese spaetzle, beef roulades, etc.) on the menu, because otherwise you almost only have to choose between schnitzel and burger can. What I would expect from a restaurant like the Neue Färberei would be draft beer and maybe a few local beers (isn't there a brewery in Hagen and the surrounding area ?!). Well, all in all I found the location very nice, the price a bit too high, I would give the restaurant another chance in the future, even if I was not completely satisfied, but it is a new restaurant and there can there is still a lot to develop ...

Unfortunately, my schnitzel "Viennese style" wasn't quite done. From the kitchen it was only said: "Some places in the meat have more blood supply, therefore redder." However, even the layperson can recognize raw meat and meat with blood circulation ... so I find the reaction from the kitchen inappropriate. One should admit mistakes and react accordingly. Due to the reaction, I cannot recommend the restaurant to others.

Mmh, the location is very appealing after the renovation, but since I got the worst fries in my life (!) There, it doesn't get more than two stars. - @ Neue Färberei: Yes, I passed it on to the service when paying. He wanted to pass this on, but obviously he didn't! Seriously: you urgently need to improve the food!
