The braumeister schnitzel is hands down the best schnitzel I’ve had in Germany. The dish is well balanced and the beer malt crumb is out of this world. 100% will be making the trek from any city for this dish again. Fantastic service from the crew here too!

Two stars, one for the for friendly waiter & another for the beautiful location. Apart from the natural beauty & older, classical architecture, for a spa town of such renown & repute, riddled with senior practitioners of all medical specialities, if the numerous, flashy sports cars are to be believed, I expected some very high culinary standards indeed. However, the food was badly cooked by jaded staff, old-fashioned with little effort to source & use natural ingredients, like the season's wild garlic, growing in abundance in the surrounding countryside within walking distance of the town's kitchens. Husband's crumb-coated chicken breast was unashamedly served burnt & dry, while my asparagus had been left at the pass to reach the table cooled down, with very little hope of being warmed up with a lacklustre packet sauce, masquerading as a "wild garlic hollandaise". Perhaps I've watched too many episodes of Masterchef Australia & UK, with the result that average restaurant cooking in Germany is now seriously underwhelming & shockingly overpriced for the poor effort their 'chefs' are expending on our meals. The time when you could eat out at averagely priced restaurants & consume well cooked food, served hot to the table, around Bavaria at any rate, is long gone. If you know anything about food, best to go for self-catering accommodation, even for just a romantic week-end than to eat the sad offerings, served up by disinterested chefs who don't even care if the star of the dish is served burnt, at a top restaurant in a town which is supposed to be about good health & healing.

Excellent choice for the SnoBros.

We live very close by, so we were delighted when the building was renovated and a new opening took place. Since then we have been there 5-6 times with friends, colleagues etc. with the hope that things will go better with the service. At best, the waitress was neutral, devoid of any emotion. Sometimes we had really unfriendly wait staff who were annoyed, which is a real shame! Such beautiful rooms, great design, delicious beer and good (mostly) food.
