Small café in the heart of Tölz. Looks a bit old-fashioned. Otherwise friendly and fast service. Coffee and cake are ok.

Have today "gingerbread" bought and taken home. Was that a disappointment :-( Unfortunately, these parts have nothing in common with the well-known gingerbread .. Totally tasteless! Actually, an impudence to sell these things as "gingerbread".
As I entered the somewhat dark shop, I smelled the scent of old wood, damp and old carpeting, frying oil, and everything that reminded me of typical and grubby pubs of the 80s at remote train stations in deserted cities. However, this cafe was not abandoned. It was well staffed and it was mostly locals, which made a positive impression. After about 10 minutes of waiting, we order two cappuccinos, cherry crumble cake and onion cake. The latter was definitely a flop. It did not just look like a microwave oven after a meal, but it does not taste good. If you like old-school, you should go in there, but old-school does not mean grubby and listless at the same time. I would definitely not have advertised the onion cake outside. That was why we went to the store.
