Altes Zollhaus is a cozy place to stay. With comfortable accommodations and friendly staff you can't expect much more. The price is comparable with other places in the region. My family and I needed a place to stay quickly and they went out of their way to accommodate us. We ate at the restaurant and found the steak very salty. The noise from the street did make staying here unattractive but we just needed a bed and a shower for the night. All in all I would still recommend a stay here if you're interested in a cozy bed and breakfast in this area.
To be fair, I chose a budget room, not a nicer room. It seemed they had renovated part of the hotel. Dated, not clean, bed felt like foam (?). Still was 88€ - not a good value for the money. The restaurant, however, was top-notch.
Staff is friendly and the rooms are clean. Breakfast was the standard one and good. Just the room facing the street is a bit loud as cars are driving whole day and night.
The hotel was central and it took about 20 minutes to walk to the town centre. The rooms was not so fresh but acceptable to sleep in. The breakfast was good but not too big. Overall it was alright.
Wonderful surroundings. Good food. Some rooms are good, some not really.
