A perfect German restaurant. Superb local food and very welcoming service from the staff. I've eaten here a few times and it is always a relaxing treat. The food is very traditional, don't expect to have a cheeseburger or a pizza here, more like beef cheek, spätzl, dumplings and local fish. In the summer, sit outside and enjoy the view of the church.

Fun place but more a B&B then a fancy hotel. Adorable layout of hotel also very awkward. Check in then walk around the block down a narrow alley, through a crowded restaurant, through the kitchen to the elevator to you room. Fun the first time but tiring over a couple days. Room nice, poor curtains, no coffee machine, very bad wifi, robe nice. Good staff in restaurant. Kitchen disappointing, the head chef is obviously inexperienced but more expected at this rate. A solid 2 star food, 5 star staff and awkward hotel. Also church bells next door ring LOUDLY all night long, luckily I travel with ear plugs. Will not rebook.

Very friendly and helpful staff. Perfect position in the centre of Freiburg. Very well appointed room and high quality bed linen. Very good breakfast. Would stay again next time in town.
