Reviews
I am currently in the rehabilitation center in Pforzheim and totally convinced.
Yes the treatment is expensive. But if you really dare to give everything, you will definitely achieve a lot here. Nothing is promised to you, it is made clear from the start that nothing will happen without full commitment.
Highly Recommended
Super therapy center for neurological patients.
Great staff, therapists, care, accommodation and meals! :) :) :)
Nice and friendly, if you are willing to take part, have been there 3 times and I have made great progress! Can only say to everyone if you make an effort! But they don't do magic here either, as they say: nothing comes from nothing!
I'm a 36-year-old, wheelchair user with tetraspastics, who learns to walk in therapy. I was in the center of Geerlofs rehabilitation for 6 weeks in January 2017 and would like to tell you about my experiences.
It has taken me an incomparable amount of effort and effort and worry through this forest of applications, contradictions, negotiations, arguments, certificates, KG reviews, doctor visits and loans to fight. Not to mention the massive debt I plunged into.
Why did I do that?
At the introductory meeting I was promised the blue of the sky! After the meeting, I was as excited and confident as not for many years.
Unfortunately, the facility was completely unable to keep its promises!
What I was promised: Daily about 4 hours of therapy, always 2 therapists, running training, innovative and individual therapy concept, trained and competent therapists, nursing staff in the house (because of my disability, I am dependent on nursing assistance).
My declared goal was to further develop my walking skills. However, several times my legs were lashed and I was asked to exercise the arms. Even if there was a deeper meaning behind it, I was not allowed to enter it.
The therapists were constantly changing! After I did not get along with a therapist I asked several times to assign myself to someone else. This person was absolutely unable to adapt to my illness, to carry out a meaningful therapy or to explain their actions.
She said, "I'm just a sports physio and I can not do anything with you neuros anyway."
So, the competence of individual employees, I would therefore seriously doubt.
In the end, I was given a bottle of water aside and made sure that I drink enough liquid - but there was no trace of a highly praised variety of therapies.
I was simply told in the face, with me "nothing could be done"!
I had to listen to myself "wasting my time" and "you'll never be able to stand alone anyway"
Once I was left sitting next to the bench for hours!
No wonder that I got sick for a short time during this period and got 39 degrees Fever - because I was urgently and with massive emphasis encouraged to come to the therapy, although I felt like a dog.
In addition, I was promised a caregiver who "should take care of all my wishes" - the truth was that an assistant 3 times a day has come over to work through the bare minimum. And since in the therapy much importance was attached to the fact that I should drink a lot, these three Stipvisieten were logically too little!
Although I'm actually continental, I was forced to wear diaper pants - so diapers, because the staff was completely overwhelmed.
In addition, although I was only there for 6 weeks, I had to change rooms at least 3 times - and please remember that I'm a tetras striker in a wheelchair! I was expected to pack my bags alone and without help and to move independently!
Although I have repeatedly expressed my complaints very friendly, no one has really taken my case. I was on my own, my words were not taken into consideration and I was not even signaled that I'm being listened to! On the contrary - I was given the feeling that I'm not taken seriously.
Never have I been so disappointed, depressed, demotivated and dejected by a "rehab" or "therapy".
It would not be a lie to say that this devastating experience has done me mental harm.
Only by my new Physio at home I can now walk on the rollator.
I would like to warn everyone against investing their private money here - this rehab did not do me any good!
I have been a regular patient at the center of Geerlof's rehabilitation for 5 years and I am very satisfied. This facility is one of the leading rehabilitation centers for neurological patients and is highly recommended.
