Oxfam Shop Oldenburg

Being shocked from above for donations shocked me! It's been three months now, but I'm still pissed off. We expect youngsters and have therefore sorted out a lot at home. Jackets, books and clothes. I have previously checked what they are accepting on the Internet and large donations and seasonal clothing are always very welcome. I even called. Whether my many books and jackets are really accepted and where and when I can bring everything over. So we get there. "Oh man, there you have a lot!" Yes, I said before. Then a woman begins to sort the books and immediately tells us with a more than condescending tone that such dirty and old books you would not accept, "nobody wants to take them to bed with them to read"! I still apologize because during the sorting process I did not know that I would bring the books to this shop. But I don't think that "shades of gray" is old. Books were yellowed on the side. I find it quite normal. Apart from the fact that the hundreds of books that were already there and were certainly not younger and didn't look any better. Our winter hoes, old-fashioned wool coats and brand ski jackets were “just old clothes”. Be it as it may. The only thing that annoys me so much is the fact that I really wanted to do something good and get treated there as if I had brought them down. Then with this condescending way. We had the feeling that they would have preferred to get things that were bought a few months ago and best left there with receipts. We haven't got rid of the books yet. We have now donated everything else to the Red Cross. Nice elderly gentleman who even picked everything up, said thank you and said that those in Westerstede would be happy about it! Then I'm happy too! Oxfam, no thanks!
