Samana Camping

This is a cute little campground in a very quiet area. There is a dome cabin here with a nice view of the ocean.

This campground / eco park is located on a private property. Its really Glamping as DR is too harsh for tents with sun and wind and rain. The owner has made a cute little geodesic dome out of natural material with a concrete floor up on a quiet mountain with a 180 degree view of the ocean. The big windows facing the ocean are screened in. There is a rocket stove for campfires, an outdoor solar heated shower, a camping toilet, a full sized bed, a table and many chairs. They bring you a typical Dominican breakfast in the morning which consists of eggs and plantains. There are also many trails around the property and off for many miles walking around including an even higher point on the tipy top of the mountain with even bigger views. The outdoor patio is sand from the beach! Amazing. This place is completely quiet an solitary for those who want to get away. Its about 10 minutes from the beach on the normal road and there is a back country dirt road that goes directly to playa coson, if you have a motorcycle or a quad for 4x4 that could be fun! As far as I know this is the only camping / glamping in Samana / Las Terrenas and possibly in the Dominican Republic.

I really love the place it's like to be with the nature one side than the other side of the beach, it's so peaceful, calm and relax. Love it. I recommend it with my eyes close.
