National Car Rental & Alamo Rent A Car

I had a 12 passenger van rented and confirmed for our day of arrival on the cruise. We went to the counter and not only did they not have our 12 passenger van, they didn't have any vehicles available. None! My party of 11 people had to take two taxis to get to our destinations. 2 other families had reservations and they didn't have any vehicles for them either. One lady had a 7 passenger large SUV rented and they gave her a compact because that was the last vehicle available. Alamo/National needs to take their name off this location. After talking with the staff, this happens a lot! I would NOT recommend renting from this location as you probably won't get a vehicle.

I made a Reservation online in their website weeks before my arrival at the airport, when I arrived the agent saw that I got a good deal on the reservation. He was making it difficult for me to take the car, so he made up randomly. Amounts that I needed to pay on top of the cost for the rental. He told me that I needed to pay 600.00 dollars supposuly for insurance, this amount was no where to be found in my reservation confirmation. When he saw that I was about to say no thanks he quickly lowered the amount for insurance and he said 500. Then I realized that he didn't have anything to get these amounts, and they were just random amounts. As a result, I was carless. Don't trust them. They will leave you carless too unless you pay them a ridiculous amount of money that they randomly make up. There are better and more serious places around. Don't let them fool you.

There are plenty of beautiful places near Amber Cove! I highly recommend you rent a car & go explore around!
