Congregación Mita, Inc.

The birth of the International Congregation Mita Church (its current official name) took place in Arecibo (Puerto Rico) in 1940, and its protagonist was a well-to-do Catholic woman named Juanita García Peraza (1897-1970). Being seriously ill, she prayed to God and promised to give herself to him if she healed. Her plea found an answer and she was healed. He converted to Pentecostalism and after having problems in his congregation-from which he was expelled-he began to preach the gospel through the streets. The popularity growth was very fast, especially after the leader said receive messages from the Holy Spirit of God.
