PONDO DE BARRO

The place is below average in food, service and atmosphere. We’re tricked into coming in and did not enjoy it at all. Won’t be back.

La Ronda is well known for it’s nightlife and El Pondo de Barro is most definitely a good place to appreciate the atmosphere of this famous street. Here you can enjoy typical Ecuadorian dishes and drinks while listening to live music. Most bands are excellent and there’s a dancefloor in front of the stage. You also the possibility to have your birthday party or other special occasion celebrated here. Their specialties are the giant wind empanadas and of course, the canelazo. The prices are super affordable and the service is quick. Approaching the weekend it gets more crowded, but there’s plenty of room, as they have tables on the first floor as well.

So so

It may be popular, to burst, to offer monumental wind empanadas, to have live music, varied food and prompt and friendly attention ... But it is not my style of atmosphere at all. Oh and the boiled wine is disgusting. Expensive, made with cardboard concoction and cloying of so much sugar. If you don't know how to make boiled wine, don't offer it.

Very nice very rich food and nice atmosphere. The bad, the presence of waitresses very bad attitude to serve.
