How beautiful is our heritage

Museum with beautiful works loaded with an important historical significance. Regardless of whether or not you are a Catholic believer, if you are interested in art history and Andean colonial history, you will like this place

Extremely religious place, it has nice quiet inner courtyards but does not stand out from the rest of churches, convents etc. The cost of 3 dollars seems excessive to me, you can only appreciate paintings and nothing else, place for believers the rest of the non-believer as my very boring case. Recommended only for Catholic people.

The architecture and scenery are extremely beautiful

The architectural complex of the Convent of San Francisco de Quito constitutes one of the monuments of greater artistic and cultural value of Hispanic America, for its impressive architecture and its dazzling beauty, which ecstatic with its charm to the Quito artistic soul. The harmony of its forms, the subtlety of its movements, confirm in an extraordinary way its Hispanic character; Due to its synchronicity with the universe, its syncretism with the Andean worldview and its indispensable indigenous ancestor, its mestizo baroque identity is reconfirmed. Inside this frame of artistic legacy works the Museum of religious art "Fray Pedro Gocial" that exhibits one of the most beautiful and complete collections of Quiteño Art of the XVII and XVIII centuries, with pictorial and sculptural pieces that tell us about the genius, talent and Catholic faith of the inhabitants of this city.
