TALLER DE TAGUA "EL CADE "

Great handicrafts store with items made of sustainable plant ivory and not animal. They do a wonderful job with a creative assortment of items. Should be a "Have to Visit" place while visiting Banos

IVORY - but not really. This was a very interesting shop. They are artisans trained in the carving of the tagua nut. This is a vegetable ivory and can be used instead harvesting tusks from elephants. The crafts, jewlery and other items were beautiful and reasonably priced. We were able to watch a demonstration of carving and just how hard the material is. Defintely worth a visit.
