Miraculous Virgen Mary. Beautiful image and church. Paintings of the most famous miracles

Pilgrims and parades! The construction of the Basílica Católica Nuestra Señora del Rosario de Agua Santa (1904-1944), a genuine pilgrimage church, is thanks to the priest-mayor Tomás Halflants from Belgium. The basilica is characterized by a compact, gray facade with white spiers. Every year, the church attracts many pilgrims who come to pray to the "Virgin of the Rosary of the Holy Water," a saint who protects people and property from earthquakes and volcanic eruptions. Not an unnecessary luxury in a country teeming with active volcanoes, Baños itself lies at the foot of the Tungurahua volcano (which is strangely the origin of the sacred water). A good, but perhaps busy time to visit the church is the month of October when processions are held in honor of the Virgin for 24 days.

I would say it is a tourist church. Because it is almost at the centre of 'baños de agua santa'. A lot of people visit and pray. The church itself is majestic. A lot of paintings you can see in the church depicting a lot of miracles. At the left side of the church, there is a place to lit candles.

It's my zen place. Love it!

Nice church. The museum on the 2nd floor is a bit creepy but worth the visit.
