Museo de Sitio Intiñan

This was one of the most fascinating tours I’ve been apart of. My tour guide, Katherine spoke English very well and had a great sense of humor. I am very thankful to have taken this tour!!

This is the real equator, just a short walk from City at the Middle of the world. The City at Middle of the world was where they believed the equator was prior to GPS, impressive that they were so close, but it’s not accurate. You will find Museo de Sitio Intiñan just a short 5 minute walk up from the City at Middle of the world on the left side. The guides are available in English and Spanish. You will learn a lot about the equator, Amazon and tribes. Was $4.00 well spent. You will get to participate in many experiments and the photo opportunities are better. There are fewer tourists as many who visit the City at Middle of the world don’t realize it’s not the real equator.

Great guide! Be prepared to learn. Ask questions and challenge yourself to answer questions. There are remarkable statues, lovely plantings and I saw several hummingbirds. Take your time and play with the experiments that prove this is the 0° line. Well worth the price of admission!

We got a great guide, Ronaldo, for our visit. He was very knowledgeable and had a good sense of humor. The museum is very informative and there is much more to it than just the Equator artifacts. You learn the history of local indigenous people and discover the flora and fauna of the tropical rainforest. You won't be disappointed.
