Yumbos Chocolate

History and chocolate in one? Amazing. This tour is informative and delicious. The brownies are out of this world, as is the hot chocolate. We bought a bunch of chocolate to take home to loved ones- the best souvenir!

I am from California and live in a region known for their cafes. The other day I stopped in to this incredible spot! It didn't feel like a touristy push... the people (tho I don't speak Spanish treated me like family) where absolutely lovely. I had a mocha that blew my mind! I've never had anything close to this quality before and that's saying something. The private back patio was magically serene. I move here in the next 6 months... needlessly to say, this will be my new watering hole. If you end up in the vicinity of Mindo don't miss the love that these beautiful people pour into a cup for you. 5 stars is not enough to describe the perfection that is Yumbos Chocolate!

The tour is interesting and comes with a cup of hot chocolate and samples of all their flavors of chocolate - orange, lemon grass, ginger, coffee, chili and salt, and cacao nibs in addition to the 60% to 100% chocolate. I ate all my orange chocolate in one day and had to beg someone to pick up more for me from Mindo. Yumbos was recommended to my by my tour guide. I asked how he picked them He said every time a new place opens, they check it out and oy recommend the best to their clients!

Delicious chocolate, a real fair-trade and organic small company that deserves support from everybody. Super recommended
