Sixt Rent a Car - Quito Airport

Consistently terrible company. They rent old, poorly maintained cars that are not safe or fit to drive, especially in a mountainous terrain with many curves and inclines. I was given a car with horrible brakes, extremely dangerous! Thankfully didn’t have any accidents, but it’s not worth the apparently cheaper up-front price to risk your life with a company that skips corners and has zero accountability. When I informed them, nothing was done to rectify the situation and they said the car was fine, so they continue to rent this very dangerous car. I can only imagine the same is true for the rest of the cars given the high mileage and obviously poor maintenance of the vehicles. This was my second time with this company, I tried to give them a chance but both times were terrible, never again.

We were able to find the lowest rates and best deals for our time there. They were very accommodating on our specific needs. Cristian went above and beyond for every question and need we had.

They attempted to rent us a really filthy car that they appeared to be using to transport people back and forth from their desk at the airport to their office right outside of the airport. I took a smaller car because it had just been cleaned. We found out that this car's a/c wasn't working while driving along the coast of Ecuador (one place you really want a/c).

In my years of renting cars all over the world with Sixt, this has been an absolute insult to the Sixt Corporation. In any decent car rental place, if they do not have the car you rented, they will offer you a free upgrade. In this Sixt, they will give you a worse car than the one you PAID for and not even refund you the price difference. Female receptionist is rude and totally unprofessional, even will talk back to you. Never coming back to this location ever.
