Mission The Constitution of the Republic of Ecuador in its article 158 states that "... the internal protection and maintenance of public order are private functions of the State and the responsibility of the National Police ...". In this virtue the same norm in its article 163 establishes the mission of the National Police, this missionary commitment is based on the professional work of men and women police by providing an effective service and respect for human rights, which is evidenced in trust, transparency, credibility and legitimacy before citizens, through the control and prevention of crime through the Components of preventive management: community service, investigation of the infraction, anti-criminal intelligence, operational management, control and evaluation.
