The University of Guayaquil sensitive to the requirements of the agricultural and livestock sector of the Ecuadorian Coast, oriented to be given due advice to this broad sector of agricultural production, in a University Council session on April 6, 1948, resolves to create the Higher School of Veterinary Medicine and Livestock Sciences and the School of Agronomy and Agricultural Mechanics, attached to the Faculties of Medical Sciences and Economic Sciences, respectively. By resolution No. 468 of the Ministry of Public Education, dated April 29, 1948, the creation of the aforementioned Schools is welcomed.
