The weird thing about this border crossing is that, to be in the correct building, you must CROSS THE BORDER FIRST before getting your passport stamped. So, if leaving Peru, come directly to this building in Ecuador to be stamped OUT of Peru and IN to Ecuador in the same room! When ENTERING Peru, do not come here! go directly to the NEW CEBAF building in Peru. You get stamped out of Ecuador and into Peru in the same room, the 2 desks are opposite each other. Ignore the old building that is marked on googlemaps, it no longer exists. It is a fairly new system and local people generally have no idea about it so motos will just take you to the nearest immigration building which is not correct. My moto driver took me to the Peruvian building building for LEAVING Peru and, of course, I hunted around for ages for the right desk in the right building before eventually getting a taxi 3km across the border to the correct place here, in Ecuador! Buses do not go to Peruvian immigration building. You will need a moto or taxi to get there and get back again to the route off to Tumbes... Good luck, I hope this helps!

Simple procedure but a bit delayed, I was there for about 2 hours. Nice place.

I do not suggest traveling on holiday. I spent 6 hours lining up to leave Ecuador and enter Peru, and that I was in a preferential queue because I was traveling with children. The lack of organization causes people to accumulate at the doors since not everyone respects the ranks. I watched the military and customs agents sneak up some people. A total chaos. I suggest placing a ticket ticket, at least that way people could wait sitting and there would not be so much DISORDER.
