Good afternoon!
My name is Graciela Estrada, I am a veterinarian and, I wanted to tell you about a situation that I have seen with the dog walkers of your company who walk the dogs in the sector where I live.
There is a dog that complains a lot, it is brown, similar to a pitbull, it is very good (it approaches me and my dog without problem) and it makes some vocalizations of pain. One day when it happened that I went out, I could see what is like that, because they put a suffocation collar on them. I told this walker not to pull on him, that this causes damage to his trachea (part of the respiratory system) and he told me the dog is aggressive and that is why he was pulling like this ... as I say, I am a veterinarian and my area of work is animal behavior and welfare, that's why I was concerned. From that day on I have continued to hear that barking and it has coincided with other mornings to meet their walkers, I had one more discussion with them and on the same topic. Today, something else caught my attention: this man and another "trainer" take several dogs, in total there were 8, 4 with a choke collar.
According to the regulations it is indicated that if they carry "aggressive" dogs (which I did not see in those animals) it must be with a muzzle. This I indicated to them and of course, they judged that I go out with my dog without a leash (in the municipal code that watches over all this, it is indicated that dogs that are sociable can walk with their owner and without a leash) and, apparently they omitted what that I indicated.
These are the reasons why I write here, because surely there are people who send their dogs for a walk with these gentlemen, so that they demand a good treatment. This results in an increased probability of health conditions due to daily stress and local injuries (trachea).
It is not convenient for you as a company to show this image if you provide walks “in favor of” animal welfare. My suggestion is that they should train their staff before entrusting them with these tasks.
