Tiwintza is also known as "Batallon Santiago". It is a small town in Ecuador on the banks of the Rio Santiago near the Peruvian border. There is an excellent paved road to go to Tiwintza from the "Troncal Amazonica" road near Patuca. Curiously, Google Maps does not know this route and does not offer a route.
