Staying at Casa Del Lago is not like staying at a hotel, it's like staying at home with a Galapagos local. Elena was the most wonderful host ever. She sat us down on the first day and walked us through the must visit sites and islands. She regularly checked in with us to ensure we were enjoying our stay there and was available if we needed anything at all. Part of the reason our trip to Galapagos was so memorable was because we met Elena and stayed at Casa Del Lago. The place is also walking distance from the port, shops and restaurants. It's just perfect!
I love this place!! The hotel is a charming bed and breakfast which is ideally located within a 2 minute walk to the pier, local restaurants and the entrance to Tortuga Bay. The room has the charm of a Latin American house with your only deck for drink in the evening. However, the best part of this place are the owners, Maria and Daniel. They are among the nicest people I've met having traveled to over 40 countries. They gave me great advice on where to go, what to eat, and staying on top of my schedule. They made me feel welcomed like a member of their family even though I didn't speak Spanish. The Galapagos was an amazing experience and a big part of that was Maria, Daniel and Casa Lago
My team and I got the privilege of staying here for two weeks and I LOVED IT HERE!
The food was amazing, the service was excellent, and it was such an overall incredible experience. The family that runs the place was so sweet and gave excellent service.
One day I plan to come back to Galapagos, and I really want to stay here again.
Loved the welcoming hosts and coziness of the rooms. It was definitely a home away from home.
Lovely rooms and the buildings are all constructed from recycled materials.
The accompanying cafe serves some delicious smoothie and brownies.
We got a room at a discounted rate of $60 as visiting in the the off season. I believe the standard rate is closer to $150.
Although the rooms are nice and the eco theme is commendable if you are on a budget you can find similarly equipped rooms around $30-40 elsewhere.
