The first mention of the manor dates back to 1504. At the end of the 15th century, Suure Cambia Manor belonged to von Buxhovens. At the beginning of the 16th century, they sold von Stackelberg to the manor. Since the Stackelbergs were on the Swedish side, they transferred the manor to Tsarnovsky. In Swedish times, the manor again became the property of the Stackelbergs, in 1790 they decided to exchange this manor for the Vayatu manor with von Knorring (in the parish of Torm). The manor house was a one-story wooden building. The Russian poet Nikolai Yazykov lived in the manor house of Suure-Cambia Manor during his studies at the University of Tartu in 1822-1829. In 1826, N. Yazykov met A. Pushkin. Now in the building of the manor there is a volost administration.
