Rented a car for 3 days, weekend trip. 5km in realized the window cleaning solution was summer type, it was -20 outside. It did not melt during the whole 3 hr trip, while it was heavy snow and bad visibility, so driving was nightmare. As the tank was full no option to top it up with winter solution either. Hertz confirmed it will melt eventually, never did and we had to drive in very bad conditions back and forth 300 km. End of 3hrs tire pressure was also low. Given we went to rural area,no option to top it up either. Next day key battery died. Hertz gave us clearly a car that they had not maintained for a long time and did not bother to check also before renting out. Just fustrating. And unacceptable.

I booked a car for the Baltic tour which was supposed to have a Vw Polo dsg transmission (or equivalent). Honda Jazz was waiting to arrive. I told the clerk that a pretty long trip that didn’t like Jazz .. The clerk eventually arranged a Kia Ceed station wagon vending machine, that is, an upper class car for the same price. This time great service. Restoration was easy.
