Peaceful and windy place

Place ok, cool stone garden, which though would like adjustment.

Good location for a church, no new buildings nearby. The oak is handsome.

Ätte küla, Vara vald, 60428 Tartumaa 58.500483, 26.878942 58 ° 30 '1.74 ", 26 ° 52' 44.19" Built in 1855 on the site of the former burnt wooden church. A sacristy (built in 1865) is attached to the rather simple central hall in the form of a cross in the eastern part. In the western part of the building, there is a quadrangular turret with a weather vane depicting the year 1854. The church bell was cast in 1736. There are five pairs of lancet windows on both sides of the central hall. Interior: flat plastered ceiling, in the eastern part of the building there is an altar cabinet. In the churchyard there is a sacred oak of the ancient Estonians - the famous Vara Oak (“vara tamm”), 24 m high and 4.2 m in circumference (early 2nd century). Near the church there is a monument to those who fell in the War of Independence (1925, restored in 1988), in the cemetery there is a mass grave of those who fell during the Second World War.
