Historic building and a little also valuable historical things - the center of the older community. First local sacred site founded in the 13th century.

Jämaja kirik, Torgu, 58.012713, 22.053037 58 ° 0 '45.77 ", 22 ° 3' 10.93" The Jamaican Church is located on the west coast of the Syrve Peninsula, on the 21 kilometer of the Kaugatuma-Syare highway. The church acquired its modern look in 1864 during a major overhaul in the church. The church was on this site already in the Middle Ages. The wooden pulpit of the Jamaican church (as well as the large epitaph in the church of Karl) testifies to the connection with the fine art of Lübeck in the early 17th century. Friezes, cornices, pilasters and medallions, as well as decor in the Renaissance style, are the work of the young master, Tönnies Evers. The modern triangular pulpit is decorated with pilasters, as well as relief medallions and richly decorated friezes located in the center. In addition, you can see wooden jewelry with a mascaron (a stylized human face), on the third frieze fantastic animals and fruits were depicted. The pilasters of the consoles show the faces of people with deep expressions. Stan Carling dates the department to 1612, the details of the department were originally part of the rostrum of St. Lawrence Church in Kuressaare. In 1710, once again in the burnt church, it was possible to save the details of the department that were used in the Yamaya church, since the tribune of this church from the Dolomite had collapsed by then. From the latter, a rounded leg with a relief ornament, as well as sculptural reliefs, has been preserved and used. A dolomite chair in the 16th century was located on the north wall of the church. The richly decorated ornamental emblem shows a crescent moon and a raised hand with a sword. On the wall in the front is an epitaph of dolomite (1657). A composition of the same time is depicted on the epitaph in Valjala, the image depicted on the epitaph is made in the traditions of the Renaissance, as well as with some magnificent features of the Baroque era. On the wall is a scene from Kolgata framed by columns. On the northern wall is an epitaph of dolomite from the 16th century. Assessing the figures of the pilasters, it was suggested that the church was built in the 16th century, following the example of buildings of the 16th century.
