In 1894 and 1897, a plot of land was transferred from the Tohisoo and Kohila manors to build a church. The church was designed by architect Vladimir Lunski. The cornerstone was laid in July 1899. The church was consecrated on January 28, 1901. In 1950 the church was closed. During the Soviet era, the church building was used as a warehouse. In 1993 the congregation was reopened. The church has a new iconostasis. Author E. Haabsaar

A beautiful building, all in the style of Orthodoxy.

The Kohila Church Tower Gallery is one of the most interesting galleries, as the exhibition spaces are designed to hang pictures of the original way and the exhibitions often change. The gallery curator is also a complete icon wall section of icons ready to be painted. Art historians still argue whether icon art is art, but curator defines icons as a religious painting, not as a picture culture.

Viljandi mnt 2, Kohila, Raplamaa, 59.169485, 24.764428 59 ° 10 '10.15 ", 24 ° 45' 51.94" The cornerstone for the Temple of the Ascension of the Lord in Angerja was laid in 1899. The temple was built by architect Vladimir Lunsky. Compared to other Orthodox churches in Rapla County in the Church of Angerje, the Russian soul is most felt. It is interesting to know: * In Soviet times there was a fertilizer warehouse in the church * Here you can see the modern iconography of Estonia * The temple in Angerya is one of the few Apostolic Orthodox churches in Estonia where the new iconostasis is painted, including all the icons of saints
