Not much to see regardless of age. The church was built 14th century and was mostly used for fortification purposes. In 1686 church was rebuilt and tower was heightened to current level. In 1941 during battles of Märjamaa it was completely demolished. By 1959 it was restored.

Maarja Church of Maryland is a church in the county of Rapla in the municipality of Märjamaa in the town of Märjamaa . In the past, the church belonged to the parish of Märjamaa to Läänemaa . The church dedicated to the Virgin Mary is used by the Maarja congregation of the Maarjamaa EELC . The building, presumably built in the 14th century, was used more as a protection structure. 1686 The church was renewed in 1871 . In the year the church tower was built up to the current height. On September 11, 1932 , a memorial to the memory of the fallen soldiers of Märjamaa was erected on the eastern side of the church building as a church guard. [1] 1941 During the Battle of Märjamaa, the church was completely destroyed. 1959 For the year the church was restored and reinstated. The altar created by Christian Ackermann in the 17th century before the church burned in 1941 was presented as "to God's glory and decorate the church" by Paeküla's landowner Anton Friedrich von Salza and "honor and virtuous Mrs. Dorothea Taube ". The altar table built by the architect Illar Kannelmäe is currently in use, and the altar wall of the altar wall is the altar painting "I am the livelihood" by Uno Roosvalti . There is 5 clock in the church tower, one of which is located at the Orthodox Church of Märjamaa .

The view from the church tower is simply enchanting. You can also walk the church debts and hear about the legends.

The church attracts attention because it is different from what we have in Spain. It has its history, there are some explanatory panels in the English entry. They do not charge admission, but a donation is requested and there is a guest book.
