Aia 5, Pärnu 58.383966, 24.506357 58 ° 23 '2.28 ", 24 ° 30' 22.89" In the last decades of the 19th century, Orthodoxy has become increasingly popular in Estonia. In this regard, the Orthodox church built in the 18th century by decree of Empress Catherine soon turned out to be too small for a large number of parishioners. In 1904, a church in the Old Russian style was built in Pärnu and it was called the Apostolic Orthodox Church of the Transfiguration. The parish of the new church (Estonian) was different from the parish (Russian) of the previously built Catherine’s church. The church has a brick facade, typical of that era, with granite plinths. The height of the bell tower is 38 meters, and the domes are 34. Inside the church there are 11 icons with an altar, and the painting of the church walls consists of 11 large compositions.
