Great if you're into trains. Some very decent locomotives, but actually the wooden train station itself is a piece of beautiful architecture. The trains look especially beautiful in the evening/sunset light. Pity that they are not covered and therefore are exposed to rain. Would say one of the highlights of Haapsalu.

Lets be honest: very small, modest and rather irrelevant indoor show, and some random rail cars and engines with no entrance in bad condition. More like a junkyard. Dont bother for indoors, have a quick walk through in the free outdoor area.

Who met the stupid decision to put the estonian railway museum to the end of a abandoned railway line??? The engines rusting in the outside and you can reach the museum only by car or bicycle (on the old line). That is really sad. The station is really nice and you can see, beside other engines, a german BR 52 („Kriegslok“). Nice place to be, but a bit sad and melancholically.

The trains are awesome but everything else is a bit modest. Worth visiting though.

BOTTOM LINE : neat collection of old trains that's good for any enthusiast or kids who love trains PRO : a nice mix of old trains to look at, conveniently located in town CON : no trains restored for riding
