For three years, the Orthodox parish was visited by 1883 peasants. Initially, a wooden church with a tower was built in Kuningamäe. In 1892, the priest Vasily Hinkel managed to buy land on Lossi Street, it was here that the impressive stone church building was built from buta. In the 1850th year, the parish Orthodox school began its work, for which, in 1894, a separate stone building was built, also on Lossi Street. Later, the school building was converted into a hospital. A small parish exists to this day.
