The pastoral or teacher’s house is the earliest building of the entire ensemble rich in construction. Kuusalu Pastorate was built between 1792 and 1798. The initial functions of the building were as follows: in the church wing there were living quarters (hall, dining room and bedrooms) of the pastor and his family. In the village part there was a pastor’s office and representative office, a family room, a room for staff and a pantry. In 1940, the construction of the parish was nationalized. In 1941, the Kuusalu People's Court was located in the pastoral building, and teachers' living rooms were located in the church section. Subsequently, the building was used as a library, as a museum of the native land, part of the premises were built and used as apartments. Since 1990, the building belongs to the parish.
