St Mary's Cathedral

Saw a painting of Keanu Reeves on a cross. AMAZING!

A wonderful church, established before 1233 and repeatedly rebuilt. There are more than 100 Coat of Arms, made in memorial to dead people, which are wonderfully colorful and intricately designed. It was fun to hike up to the roof which had fantastic views all around! I was in Tallinn on a 9-hour stopover on a Norwegian Getaway 9-day Baltic Cruise during mid-August 2019. I had a 'Tallinn Card', which covered most sights. Rick Steves "Scandinavian & Northern European Cruise Ports" Guidebook was a great help and this sight was part of the self-guided "Tallinn Walk" in the book.

Beautiful cathedral. The interior contains a large number of emblems. Each of them is an ode to the skill of a craftsman. A huge number of small parts. You can consider endlessly. Especially if the organ is playing.

When I visited this church it was covered with snow and I couldn't realise it very much. But it's impressive to see how old is the building and how well treated it is. And more: beside the church there's a small square where you can see a beautiful view of the surrounds. Great place to visit.
