Impressive ruined site on hills over lake Viljandi. The castle has been huge! No entry fee.

Nice views and ruins but wouldn’t say it was worth a special trip. Great bridge though!

Have seen many castle ruins in the past and Viljandi castle is really one of a kind, stretching over three adjacent hilltops. It's a pity though that there is not much left of the castle ruins, so you'd best go about with a layout of the castle in your hand, to see where everything was. From here you can enjoy the view over Viljandi lake and stroll about the park and cross the long hanging bridges.

Beautiful scenery and a bit of history to boot. Imagine what this place must have looked like as there is very little remaining. Gentle easy walk.

Has a wonderful view over lake Viljandi, despite what the season is. A great location to explore a little bit of history behind the town, as well as to sit down and have a picnic and a chat. Lots of local young people's favorite place to gather.
