Since 1993, the museum has existed independently. With the help of the preserved Riga and barn, the museum keepers try to convey the essence of farm life of the 18-19 centuries. On the territory of the museum there is an open-air stage where various events are held. In 1990, a St. Petersburg artist, Grigory Azarenkov, made for the museum from oak logs, which are more than two hundred years old, five sculptures, which are famous historical figures of the Vaimastveve neighborhood. The museum is located in a picturesque place and in the summer folk festivals and performances are often held here.
