Alcaraz carpet loomnBack to the city, we go to the main street. At the entrance we find the tourist office in the old House of Justice. Although the greatest attraction is the annex door where Trinidad García, a master craftswoman in the art of Alcaraz carpet, spends her days creating these works of art in her small workshop. Such is the fame of these carpets that the oldest are in the Metropolitan Museum in New York or in the Islamic Museum in Berlin. Or closer to the National Museum of Decorative Arts in Barcelona. It is certainly worth seeing how Trini is creating each carpet with pinpoint accuracy, a feat of this woman from Alcaraceña.
