The hermitage of Santa María is a Romanesque chapel of Chalamera (province of Huesca, Spain), located halfway between Chalamera and Alcolea de Cinca, near the confluence of the Cinca and Alcanadre rivers.nFormerly it was a priory that was in the Way of Santiago, in the branch that left Catalonia and went to Sigena, in Aragon.nIt is documented before the Christian conquest, so it is assumed that it must already exist in Islamic times or even before. Later it belonged to the bishopric of Roda and the monastery of Santa María de Alaón.nThe current preserved building is one of the most important monuments in the Bajo Cinca region. It was built by the monsoon templars towards the end of the 12th century.nThe plant is of Latin cross, with a single ship of three sections and triple head, finished off in semicircular apses visible only from the inside. The main door, which opens at the foot of the ship, has six archivolts supported by six pairs of columns with capitals with human and animal figures representing biblical and symbolic themes. Above is a window with a semicircular arch. The other door, much simpler, opens to the cruise and had to give the cloister when the church was part of a monastic ensemble.nInside is a Visigothic sarcophagus decorated with palms and pineapples.nIt is a beautiful hermitage where there are spectacular views of the Cinca River, it is near Chalamera, on the road that connects with the town of Alcolea de Cinca.

Beautiful Romanesque church located on the outskirts of the town. To emphasize its beautiful cover with beautiful capitals

Small temple very well preserved, from where you can see the banks of the Cinca river and if there is no fog, some villages on the other side of the river.

A very well preserved chapel, with good views from the place. Interesting for lovers of Romanesque
