This weekend we celebrated my birthday coinciding specifically with Diabetes Day. I had not eaten a Basque cake in more than 24 years. Today in my house we have removed that gluttony. We took advantage of the shipment to Bilbao to order some mutts that I had not eaten for another 24 years. The same years that I have been a type 1 diabetic.
