Its construction dates from the end of the 17th century and it was ordered to be built by the brothers of the nearby Carmelite convent of San José in Las Batuecas.nnThis building was built on top of the old cemetery and, in the first place, it was a small hermitage built with stone, mud and lime plaster. You can still see traces of this first building in the windows that are low to the ground and you can see the piece that was added in height when a first reform was made around 1930 and it became a parish, during this same reform was added the bell tower with its two bells, since before there was only a small shearing.nBoth the entrance and the surroundings around the church have the floor of boats and cement, which long ago was used to go around the church and pray the Rosary.nnInside, in the center is the Holy Crucified Christ hanging on a stone wall. On the left is the bust of Jesús Nazareno, placed on the trunk of a tree, which was brought by the nuns of the Franciscan Order from its previous location in the old factory of Alfonso XIII. On the right is the Virgen del Carmen that gives its name to the parish. Before going up to the main Altar, there are on the left wall, San José, San Blas and the Virgen de los Dolores, and on the right side, the Virgen de la Inmaculada.nnAs symbolic objects of the parish we can find the Holy Sagrario, the granite baptismal font, the Stations of the Cross around the parish, a confessional, the stone holy water font and a lectern for reading.
